Kentucky complying with Pentagon order on same-sex spousal benefits

http://www.kentucky.com/2013/09/10/2815087/3-states-stand-alone-in-defying.html

Currently, three states are ignoring the Pentagon’s order to grant benefits to same-sex married couples. Those states are Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Under the Pentagon’s order, all married couples, regardless of their gender, are to be treated equally. That means only three states are refusing to treat military personnel the same regardless of their gender. Those states are arguing that their States’ laws do not allow for same-sex marriages, which is why they are rejecting the Pentagon’s order. The Pentagon’s order is very clear that all married couples are to be treated equally for benefits.

Personally, I believe that these people are risking their lives for us, the least that can be expected of us is to grant them the benefits that they are entitled to September 22,  2013.  http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/federal_government/national-guard-is-new-gay-rights-battleground-as-four-states-refuse-to-handle-federal-benefits/2013/09/21/9a4619e8-1bbd-11e3-82ef-a059e54c49d0_story.html

An update for this, Oklahoma is now also refusing benefits to same-sex married couples in the National Guard.
