Same-sex marriage in Kentucky

On June 26, 2013, the Supreme Court overturned the Defense of Marriage Act, which means that the Federal Court will now recognize same-sex marriages. On July 26, 2013, the Fauver Law Offices’ lawyers filed suit in Louisville, Kentucky to have their clients’ same-sex marriage from Canada recognized in Kentucky. On August 16, 2013, the lawsuit was amended to add more plaintiffs to the case.

Following are some of the links to stories about that filing:

On August 16, 2013 the Fauver Law Office again filed suit to have their clients’ same-sex marriage recognized, but this time the lawsuit was filed in Lexington Kentucky. As Kentucky is separated into two Federal Jurisdictions, we could end up with two completely different rulings on these lawsuits.
