Bankruptcy filings

The Fauver Law Office assists people in both Kentucky and Southern Indiana file bankruptcy, both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13.

It used to be that you would have to file a Chapter 13, which means making monthly payments for up to 5 years, in order to keep your house and/or car. That changed in 2008. Now, you can keep your house and/or car, IF you can make the payments when your other debts is wiped out; IF you don’t owe more than it is worth and IF you are current on the payments. (These are generalizations and don’t apply in every case.)

Before coming to see us you will need to get the following information together (if is applies to you):
1. The last 6 months of paystubs.
2. The last 6 months of bank statements.
3. Your last two tax returns.
4. A copy of your car title.
5. A copy of your deed.
6. A copy of your mortgage.
7. A copy of your 401k.

The sooner you can get everything together, the sooner you can get filed.
